Mini Makes

I love making all sorts of everything!!!

One of my other hobbies is cross stitch. I tend to stitch on 22 count up to 36 count, I would not attempt to sew on silk for fear of going cross eyed!

I have recently finished a rug for the farmhouse bathroom which is large and rambling enough to house an adequately sized rug.  I have chosen my own colours of green, brown, cream and gold to compliment the bathroom colour scheme.  Unfortunately my phone wouldn't really take a good quality picture of the rug in situ.

My attemptat a New England style Dresser! I love this essentially American design.

Handbag, another present! Might have to make one for myself.

Garden crate, this is for the cottage as I need to make garden stuff rather than buy if I can.

I've been busy making again, as much as I love the fruition of the projects I love making the little bits n pieces. Most of them I foolishly give away as presents though!

Chocolate box cut out, not bad for a freebie!

I have also managed to finish the Japanese folding screen I have been making. It was basically an idea from a Miniature Magazine article featuring the various styles of folding screens and their origin. This particular screen should have been made up from small bamboo pieces but as I had none or any idea where to purchase them from I decided to use my initiative. I cut BBQ skewers and cocktail sticks to size and painted them mottled in brown. It was simply just a case of adhering the screen prints to sturdy card and then gluing the sticks into place. It was slightly fiddly but well worth the effort.
